Independence Day: Resurgence is going to claim a prominent promotional spot at this year's Super Bowl according to reports.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum will actually be attending the Super Bowl to represent the movie. While it is not known if this will also entail the release of a new trailer for the film, we are guessing there is definitely going to be some form of unveiling.

The first trailer for the movie was revealed in December last year. The clip shows Goldblum's character David Levinson being brought back to assess the threat as he is taken to the settlement of alien forces that are preparing for war on America.

"Today we will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression and persecution but from annihilation," the president is heard addressing the nation. "And should we rue the day, the fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday but they day that the world said in one voice we won't go quietly into the night, we will not vanish withouth a fight, we're going to live on, we're going to survive, today we celebrate our..."

The movie has also set up a viral site for fans to recall the "war of 1996" fought in the original Independence Day. Will Smith is not part of the sequel but there are plenty familiar faces for fans of the franchise. New faces that make this sequel promising are Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg. This one is really going to stir up the emotions of the older generation which revelled in its themes of nationalism two decades ago, and will be a fresh take for the younger generation of movie goers.

The movie has been directed by Ronald Emmerich and also stars Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Vivica A. Fox and Brent Spiner.

Independence Day: Resurgence will hit theaters on June 24, 2016, with the independence day just around the corner.
