'NCIS: LA' Season 8: What 'Big Long Trajectory' Planned For Densi This Fall? Daniela Ruah Spills On Kensi & Maternity Leave [VIDEO]
NCIS: Los Angeles' Kensi Blye is in for a whirlwind of a season. From proposals to drastic changes for the team, Daniela Ruah's special agent will have plenty of story to tackle this fall.
NCIS: LA stars Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen dropped by San Diego Comic-Con last week, using the nerd mecca to shed a little light on Densi's future. Although one half of the acting duo is ready to head out on maternity leave, there will be no shortage of drama for the OSP lovebirds.
"My pregnancy has brought on reasons to hide the pregnancy, which has then inspired a very particular storyline this season - at least in the first half of it, that's all I know - where something very drastic happens to the whole team," Ruah told EnStars. "Kensi is affected by that a little bit more, and that poses obstacles and a big long trajectory for Kensi and Deeks."
"Also, there's a proposal," Ruah added coyly.
Just as in season 5, motherhood will not pull the actress away from her role. Although Ruah will take several weeks off, NCIS: LA filmed her upcoming arc in advance, a decision that will allow editors to splice in Kensi's scenes across the fall run.
"When you guys watch the show on TV, you won't notice my absence even though I'll be gone for a number of weeks pre- and post-baby," Ruah explained. "So this whole first eight days of shooting has been spent doing all of my scenes from episodes 3 to episode 10 or 9. So it's that whole arc."
Incidentally, that storyline will kick off in the premiere. One tried and true way to hide a baby bump is to pack on the layers, and that's exactly what Kensi and Co. will do as they head back to the Middle East.
"The first episode is kind of an introduction. There's a case, this is happening, [and] they do indeed send us overseas," the star explained in reference to the following photo, was which she snapped during filming for the second episode. "Episode 2 is where this big situation happens that spurs the chain of events that happens after that."
