She got caught in the crossfire when her ex-husband and his current estranged wife announced their divorce, but Jennifer Aniston is making sure she stays out of the drama when it comes to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce, even if that means she has to turn away her ex when he seeks time out to catch up with her.

According to reports, Pitt did reach out to his ex-wife and asked to meet up with her, but believing it would be an insult to her new husband Justin Theroux, Aniston politely declined the get-together.

"He called her and they had a brief conversation. But Jen, who is married to actor Justin Theroux told Brad that, while she supported him in spirit, she didn't have time to see him," a source said.

He also reportedly reached out to her by email while they were both in London, apologizing for her name being dragged into the divorce because of their own past, but when he asked to follow up the email with a friendly meeting, she once again declined because she didn't want to have dinner with him and have it misconstrued in the press.

"She is happily married and meeting Brad would be an insult to Justin. She knows that matters and it's her marriage," the source said.

Pitt and Aniston were married from 2000-2005, and split after he met Jolie on the set of Mr. And Mrs. Smith. The divorce led to a lot of tabloid coverage of all three in the following years, especially as Pitt and Jolie's romance only appeared to grow stronger and saw them welcome six children together. Meanwhile, Aniston's love life became a hot topic, with her romances with Vince Vaughan, Paul Sculfor and John Mayer all being relentlessly covered. She was also rumored to have dated Bradley Cooper, Gerard Butler and Jason Sudeikis, before her romance with Theroux went public in 2011. They became engaged in 2012, and married last year.
