Many shows will be returning to the airwaves this summer; here's a preview of five high profile shows that will be premiering within the next few months:

Arrested Development  - Sunday, May 26 - Netflix

The first big release of the season is the highly anticipated return of Arrested Development.  Fox cancelled the cult sitcom after three seasons in 2006 and fans have been clamoring for the show to be brought back ever since. On May 26, Netflix will stream all 15 episodes on their Watch Instantly service.

True Blood - Sunday, June 16 - HBO

The vampire saga True Blood returns for its sixth season on June 16. "This is God's plan to save the human race by eradicating the vampire race," is one of many killer lines in the newest trailer for the show. The series will only air 10 episodes this season due to star Anna Paquin's maternity leave. The entire ensemble cast is expected to return this season. Season 6 premieres on June 14 at 9 p.m. on HBO.

Dexter - Sunday, June 30 - Showtime

Showtime's serial killer drama Dexter will be airing its eighth and final season starting June 30. After guest starring in the seventh season, Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) will be returning as Dexter's ex-girlfriend. On the show's ending, executive producer Scott Buck said, "Serial killers don't generally end on a happy note." The series will return on June 30 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.

The Newsroom - Sunday, July 14 - HBO

Aaron Sorkin's fast-paced series about broadcast journalism returns for its second season on July 14. The second season premieres on July 14 at 10 p.m. on HBO.

Breaking Bad - Sunday, August 11 - AMC

Last but not least, AMC's Breaking Bad will return on Aug. 11 for Part 2 of its final season. The Bryan Cranston-Aaron Paul drama aired the first eight episodes of its final season last summer. AMC will release the first eight episodes on DVD on June 4, giving viewers plenty of time to catch up.
