Actress Olivia Munn will be bringing in the New Year with an exciting new venture. The Babymakers actress has been confirmed as the host for the 2018 Critics' Choice Awards.

Olivia Is The Choice

The news follows reports of changes being made in Hollywood. Several actresses have banded together to create the "Time's Up" movement that will enforce equal pay, benefits, and opportunities for women in Hollywood. For the 2018 Golden Globes, actresses Kerry Washington, Penelope Cruz, and singer Kelly Clarkson will be among the presenters for the evening.

Munn herself has been a vocal advocate against the sexual harassment allegations that plagued Hollywood for the past three months. The actress claimed that director Brett Ratner repeatedly harassed her and inappropriately behaved in front of her. Munn alleges that she was asked to deliver cocktail shrimp to the director's trailer when she walked in on him barely dressed and masturbating in front of her.

Ratner denied this claim, stating that he and Munn used to date, and he never harassed her. Munn joins five other women who accused the director of sexual misconduct.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association stated their excitement to have Munn host this year's ceremony.

"Beyond her skills as an actress, Olivia's work as an activist within the industry gives her a powerful voice, making her the perfect candidate to lead this night honoring the best and brightest in film and television," President Joey Berlin stated.

While it has been announced that the Golden Globes will address the sexual harassment epidemic, there hasn't been any reports yet if the Critics' Choice will follow suit.

Munn is also best known for her roles in X-Men: Apocalypse, Deliver Us from Evil, Ride Along 2, and Office Christmas Party. The actress will also be featured in the all-female reboot of Ocean's 8 with Sandra Bullock and Rihanna.

The Critics' Choice was previously hosted for two consecutive years by actor and comedian T.J. Miller, who is currently facing sexual assault allegations.

In addition to a new host, the ceremony will also be presenting the #SeeHer award to Wonder Woman and Justice League actress, Gal Gadot, presented by director Patty Jenkins. Last year's recipient was How to Get Away with Murder star, Viola Davis.

The Critics' Choice Awards will air on Jan. 11. The award show will be broadcasted on the CW network.
