Although Desiree Hartsock and the remaining suitors had quite an emotional and dramatic trip to Germany on The Bachelorette Season 9, there is a lot happening behind the scenes that fans didn't see.

Viewers only see the elaborate dates, romantic make-out sessions and the emotional breakdowns -- which we love -- but there are some secrets that may even surprise a die-hard fan. Former Bachelorette Season 4 contestant (and winner) Jesse Csincsak, who competed to win Deanna Pappas' heart, is revealing new insight into what footage gets left on the cutting room floor.

Although the suitors seem to be spending plenty of time with their leading lady, they are actually secluded from her and have hours of downtime before filming begins. To keep the men occupied, because they have little access to the outside world, the producers provide plenty of booze to keep them happy, Csincsak told EnStarz.

Of course, this down time leads to plenty of drinking, which may explain some of the ridiculous behavior and blindsiding moments.

"On the show, there are always producers doing everything short of pouring alcohol down your throat to get you nice and sauced, so you will do what they need on camera," Csincsak told EnStarz.

"When watching the show, you will always notice everyone has a drink nearby and if it is a 1-on-1 date, there is always a fresh bottle of bubbly for them close by."

In addition to the unlimited libations, the Bachelorette suitors have plenty of extra perks for filming the hit ABC show.

"The weirdest and outrageous thing about being on the show is that production pays for everything -- and I mean everything! You could wake up at 7a.m. and say, 'I want a 6ft tall chocolate bunny rabbit with eyes made of marshmallows,' and you could get it," he revealed.

"You eat like a king. You drink like a king. And you travel like a king," he said, adding that "for most of the people who go on the show, this is the life!"

Everything leads to up the proposal, as the guys get down on one knee after only knowing the bachelorette for a few weeks. But that gorgeous engagement ring is only theirs to keep, if they stay together for at least two years, Csincsak explains.

"Per the contract any couple that doesn't stay together for two years has to return the ring to ABC. At this point, only two couples actually still have the ring they were given on the show: Trista and Ryan Sutter, who met on the first season of The Bachelorette, and newlyweds Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum," he said. (The Sutters will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary later this year.)

Csincsak, who broke up with Season 4 Bachelorette Pappas in 2008, knows from experience that after the show ends, most of the relationships do too. His advice to current star Hartsock is simple: Stay far away from Hollywood if you want your relationship to last.

"If you want it to work, get out of Hollywood! Run to the hills and get back to real life where paparazzi won't be standing on your doorstep," he said.

The Bachelorette airs on Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
