Danity Kane reunited at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday without D. Woods and shortly after the former member opened up about her absence, explaining that her solo work commitments come first.

"For the past couple of years, myself and the other DK members have been working on other projects individually, such as music, film, television, theater and philanthropy and I have recently signed on to several projects that will have me committed for the next year. My latest single Gold Mine is now available everywhere!" she told Us Weekly in a Sunday report.

The remaining four members - Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard, Aundrea Fimbres and Shannon Bex - walked the red carpet of the VMAs in Brooklyn, N.Y. Sunday and announced that they are officially back together. The group formed in 2005 during the third installment of MTV's Making The Band reality series. Danity Kane released its self-titled debut album a year later and it went platinum. In 2008 their sophomore album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, was released. Both albums went to No.1 on Billboard.

Rumors of the band's reunion started shortly after their split in 2009 and now it's clear that they have put their differences aside.

"Back in NYC, at the first show DK ever walked... on our OWN TERMS! Tearing up," O'Day tweeted on Sunday.
