After a year of staying mostly out of the spotlight, actress Blake Lively is set to make her return to Hollywood in the new film The Age of Adaline.

The 26-year-old took a hiatus from acting after her hit CW show Gossip Girl ended last year and also marrying her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds. This will be her first project since 2012's Savages.

Just because she has been out of the limelight recently doesn't mean the actress didn't keep busy. Lively talked to Vogue UK about what she'd been up to while staying away from film sets, which included starting her own celebrity lifestyle company.

"A lot has changed for me in the last year," Lively said. "I got married, I finished Gossip Girl after six years, I had my first break in a while and now I've been working on this company...now I'm in a different place."

The Age of Adaline is about Lively's character who stops aging at 29 after a near fatal accident and embarks on a worldwide journey until she meets a man who changes everything, according to Deadline. Filming is set to begin shooting in March.

Lively is reportedly taking over the role after actress Katherine Heigl dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with her new NBC drama, which has yet to receive a name.

Heigl's big break back into acting could be with the new show after it was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that is virtually blacklisted in Hollywood due to bad behavior between herself and her mother.

"She can cost you time every single day of shooting," a source from the set of Heigl's 2010 movie Life As We Know It told the magazine. "Wardrobe issues, not getting out of the trailer, questioning the script every single day..."

Heigl's mother was partially blamed for the reputation her daughter received, which kept her out of the spotlight for a few years.

"I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl, " the source said. "It's about the mouth. 'F--- you. You are a f---ing liar'...Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot."
