Amid the many rumors that Naya Rivera had been fired from Glee, there is new confirmation that she will actually be returning to the show for its final season.

Glee Final Season Focused On "Arts In School" As Show Returns To Lima

Rivera, who has starred as Santana Lopez for Glee's first five seasons, will be bumped down to recurring guest star for the show's upcoming sixth and final season, according to a new TVLine report.

Her reduced status was allegedly her own request, according to the report, and both Glee producers and Fox obeyed her wishes in order to keep the peace. The reason for Rivera's reduced status is not necessarily due to on-set feuding with other actors and producers, as had been rumored, but because she wants to focus on other creative projects.

"Naya wants to have more time to explore her music and other endeavors," a source close to the actress told E! Online recently.

News of Rivera's return to Glee comes amid several other rumors about the show's cast. Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt, had his Twitter hacked last week in a message that said he was being "let go" of Glee. Additionally, Lea Michele, who plays Rachel, had her own Twitter hacker claiming to be her and tweeting that she was pregnant.

Glee is set to return for its sixth and final season in 2015, though Fox has not made an official announcement on when it will return exactly. Presumably it will begin airing in early 2015 with a reduced episode count.
