Close to a year ago, Lebron James posted a video of himself on Instagram dancing to O.G. Bobby Johnson, a song from up-and-coming rapper Que. The Cleveland Cavaliers small forward included the caption, “My new theme song on gameday!”

Que, born Quintin Square Jr., spoke about the “crazy” moment he saw the video and said it opened his eyes to his own success.

“People kept telling me the song was a hit,” the 23-year-old told Enstars.com. “For it to reach Lebron and then for him to take the time out of his day to actually take a video in his car – it made me a believer.”

The Atlanta native, who also played basketball in high school, has achieved a lot more since the NBA star shared the video with his millions of followers. After getting signed to Atlantic Records last year, the rapper released two mixtapes – Who is Que? and Can You Digg it? – and he’s gearing up to drop his latest, The 6th Man. He’s also set to perform at the annual South by Southwest Music Festival next March in Austin, Texas.

We asked Que five questions to get to know the man behind the slick and unapologetic raps a little better.

What's the biggest misconception people have about you? There are a lot of them… People think I’m a big millionaire from the south.

What’s something people don’t know about you? I make jokes all day, every day. I wouldn’t say childish to the point where it's nerve-racking and annoying, but just playing jokes and pranks and scaring people all day.

What’s been the hardest moment in your career so far? Working with a team. You have to get all other opinions.…You have to meet in the middle and come to an agreement.

Do you have any advice for others trying to make it in the music industry? Just keep going, keep pushing and keep believing in yourself. Even when you feel like you’ve made it, you didn’t make it. And, if you do get signed to a label always keep that independent mind state. Don’t wait on the label to do nothing for you. And if you get the money, save it, because you’re going to need it for a rainy day.

Where do you hope to see yourself in the next five years? Possibly have an album drop. Collaborate with some of the legendary artists.… I have long-term goals but for the most part I try to make short-term goals and try to accomplish them and take this sh*t day-by-day.
