Tippi Hedren has been confirmed to guest-star in the season 4 finale of 'Cougar Town'. The 82-year-old veteran actress will play herself alongside Courteney Cox in the popular comedy. 

TBS stated: "The cul de sac crew scheme to capture Tippi Hedren to cheer up Jules' dad, Chick [Ken Jenkins]. From harassing a tour guide to stalking Tippi's home, the crew will stop at nothing for Chick to have a glass of champagne with one of his favorite stars."

Hedren is best known for her roles in the legendary Alfred Hitchcock films. The obsessive relationship between Hitchcock and his "leading lady" actress Tippi Hedren was the subject of HBO movie "The Girl" which aired in October. 

In an interview with HBO, Hedren opened up about Hitchcock's obsession with her and how he "ruined" her career.

"We are known as the Hitchcock Blondes and I think he had a penchant for falling in love a little bit with each of his actors. The difference with Hitchcock and me was that it wasn't love. Because when you love someone, you treat them well. This became an obsession," the actress,

Hedren also said that when she wanted to end a contract she had with the director he didn't let her go.

"After a number of demands that I could not acquiesce to, I had to get out of the contract. He said: 'You can't do that, you have your daughter to support, your parents are getting older." And I just said, "Nobody who loves me would want me to be in a situation in which I'm not happy.' He said: 'I'll ruin your career. And he did," the actress said.

Hedren is the mother of Hollywood actress Melanie Griffith, with whom she starred in several films with.
