The New York Giants (8-7) chances for an NFC East crown are officially out of grasp.  The team will now need plenty to go their way in order to slip into the postseason as a wild-card.

With their backs against the wall, the Giants will look to control what they can when they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles (4-11) on Sunday.  The matchup is expected to be long-time Eagles' coach Andy Reid's last game at the helm.

Reid has led Philadelphia from the sidelines for fourteen seasons, which makes him the longest reigning tenured NFL coach.  Rather than speculated over the security of his job, Reid insisted to ESPN that he's focused on the task at hand against New York.

"You don't think of those things.  Your mind never goes there.  It's one day at a time and that's how you go about it.  You really don't look into the future."

The Giants have been defeated in five consecutive home games versus the Eagles and eight out of nine in the series going into Week 17.

Although the defending 2011-12 Super Bowl champions led the NFC East a majority of the season, they've plummeted since by losing five of its last seven, most recently at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens via 33-14 margin.

In order to obtain the No. 6 seed into the playoffs, New York must defeat the Philadelphia and Chicago, Minnesota and Dallas must all lose their respective games.

"Obviously, the scenarios are very possible.  It's not like a bunch of huge upsets have to happen.  These are three divisional games being played and in the division, you never know what might occur," quarterback Eli Manning told ESPN.
