Has sad news hit fans of CBS' soap opera The Young and the Restless about two of its lead stars? Or are a bunch of silly rumors swirling about casting news?

'Rehab Has Begun' For Which Soap Star On 'The Young and the Restless' After An Incident On Set?

Over the weekend, between Friday and Sunday, Melody Thomas Scott, the portrayer of Nikki Newman since 1979, addressed her over 109,000 Twitter followers repeatedly about the status of herself and her costar Eric Braeden (Victor Newman on screen) staying on the soap opera.

The actress initially informed fans on Friday that seemed to think Braeden was leaving the soap opera that he is in fact not leaving.

"Again...ERIC IS NOT LEAVING THE SHOW!!!!!" she declared.

He has been portraying Victor since Victor made his debut in Genoa City in 1980.

Throughout the weekend, Scott continued to answer questions from followers and even requested one not use the word "wrap" since it could be assumed that she and Braeden are actually done with The Young and the Restless even though they certainly are not.

The rumors continued to spill and for some reason other fans of the soap and Scott in particular thought she might be retiring soon, but they can rest easy since she debunked that rumor too.

"NO, I AM NOT RETIRING!!!" she dished.

Like her costar, Scott has been on the soap opera for years. She replaced Erica Hope in 1979 and has been Nikki ever since.

The storylines on the soap opera frequently revolve around the complex relationship between Nikki and Victor. Plus, the viewers love the two thespians.

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
