Hawaii Five-0's first chase scene of the year will be right up McGarrett's alley.

Unlike Danny (Scott Caan), the former Navy SEAL has no qualms when it comes to hurling himself off a building or diving in front of speeding cars. It's McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) calculated (albeit mildly reckless) abandon that will come in handy as Five-0 traverses the rooftops of Oahu during the season 7 premiere, "Makaukau 'oe e Pa'ani (Ready to Play)?"

Showrunner Peter Lenkov shared videos of the heart-pounding sequence last month, but, now that the first season 7 promo has dropped, fans can get a look at the finished product (see video below). We don't know who has the Five-0 crew testing out their freerunning skills, but he's certainly keen to avoid the long arm of the law.

Could the first suspect of season 7 be related to the island's new serial killer? Gabriel is out of the picture, and that means it's time for McGarrett to turn his attention to the Hawaii Five-0's next terror. To do so, he'll need to call in the cavalry.

"In Hawaii Five-0's season premiere, McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) refuses to listen to Danny's (Scott Caan) pleas to take it easy while recovering from surgery after the body of a serial killer is left in the headquarters with an ivory chess piece in his mouth," CBS teased. "When a second serial killer is found dead with another chess piece, Five-0 goes on the hunt for the vigilante as fear grows that it's not safe to travel to Hawaii."

Can Five-0 outsmart this murderous grandmaster? Find out when Hawaii Five-0 returns to CBS on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
