The popular NBC TV series The Office ended on May 16 with a 75-minute series finale after nine years on the air. US Weekly reports that actor John Krasinski was candid about his last days working on the hit show.

The interview with Krasinski will appear in the May 20 issue of the magazine.

Krasinski admits he teared up during the hour-long retrospective that aired before the series finale. He said the cast, however, kept it together on set. "I don't think there were any tears," said Krasinski. "But the only thing that prevented us from having a meltdown is we're all so proud of the show."

Krasinski was cast as Dunder Mifflin sales representative Jim Halpert in 2005. He won a 2007 and 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

The 33-year-old actor said that the last shot taped was of everyone exiting the office, with everyone cracking jokes and in good spirits. Executive producer Greg Daniels said, "That's the end of The Office!" Krasinski said that "saying goodbye [is] bittersweet."

A native of Newton, Mass., Krasinski said he plans to spend time with his wife, British actress Emily Blunt. The couple wed in 2010 in an outdoor ceremony held at the Villa D'este in Como, Italy.

Krasinski was featured in People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive issue of 2006. He claims Los Angeles as his current home but travels to New York City and his hometown of Newton, MA, frequently.

Blunt's big break came in 2006, when she starred opposite Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada, as an obnoxious young magazine assistant. She won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in 2007 for her role on the TV show, Gideon's Daughter.

Krasinski said he does not have any projects in the works or lined up at this time.
