Benedict Cumberbatch has had a busy year in film, and his most recent endeavor, The Fifth Estate, has released a new trailer.

Based on the books "Inside WikiLeaks" and "WikiLeaks," the story focuses on the work of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (Cumberbatch) in his effort to bring truth to the web and the ensuing consequences that come from that mission.

Directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls), The Fifth Estate trailer begins with Assange and his associates watching footage of unarmed journalists being gunned down by an American helicopter in a war zone. As the video is seen by more and more people the world over, Wikileaks and its search for truth and justice is deemed a threat.

As a blond haired Cumberbatch extols the virtues of anonymity in getting man to tell the truth, the video traces Assange and supporter Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Daniel Bruhl) as they journey to become the whistle blower Assange is describing. Following the sites release of 90,000 American military documents, things begin to fall apart.

With a screenplay written by Josh Singer (Fringe), the DreamWorks film features Cumberbatch and Bruhl alongside Alicia Vikander, Stanley Tucci, and Laura Linney.

The Fifth Estate is set for release this fall on Oct. 11.
