The COVID-19 pandemic both halted, stalled and indefinitely paused production on many of our favorite shows during a time when we binge watched TV the most. Now that studios are opening back up and production is ramping back into gear, completely new TV shows and additional seasons to existing shows are being announced. So we're excited to announce 7 TV shows that we're most excited for coming to TV providers everywhere sometime in 2021 and 2022.

1. Handmaid's Tale, Season 5

Found On: Hulu (starting at $5.99 a month)

Tentative Release Date: Unofficially sometime in 2022

Handmaid's Tale fans watched season four all the way to the end assuming that this was the final season. We were left with tons of questions with little explanations about Hannah, Nick, Aunt Lydia, Janine, Esther, and Serena Joy to name a few characters.

A few days after the last episode of season 4 aired, the show announced there will be another season coming to Hulu after all! There's no word on what fans can expect to see, what characters will be returning or even when it will be released. What we do know is it will keep us at the end of our seats as usual and fans will receive updates as they're available.

2. Ms. Marvel, Season 1

Found On: Disney+ (starting at $7.99 a month)

Tentative Release Date: Sometime late 2021

Disney+ is back at it again with another action packed super hero limited series with Ms. Marvel expected to release in late 2021 barring no delays in production. The new series is expected to introduce Ms. Marvel into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There isn't a lot of information on exactly what the show will entail. However, what we do know is that the show will follow closely along with the comics. Deadline reported that Iman Vellani will play Kamal Khan aka Ms. Marvel on the show and will be the first superhero project that features a muslim hero as the lead character.

3. The Walking Dead, Season 11

Found On: AMC

Tentative Release Date: August 22, 2021

AMC is gearing up for the next season of The Walking Dead to return on Sunday, August 22 at 9pm EST on the channel with "11 weeks of reveals until season 11." In the reveal, AMC details what's ahead and what fans can expect to find some closure on. Without giving away too many spoilers, these details include sneak peaks on characters like Daryl, Carol, Eugene, Ezekiel, Jerry, Yumiko, Judith and Princess.

4. Archer, Season 12

Found On: FXX

Tentative Release Date: August 25, 2021

Even though the creator of Archer said the show wouldn't last past ten seasons, then season 11 was supposed to be the end on NBC, and now here we are with season 12 slated to be released sometime in 2021 on FXX after a delay in production due to the coronavirus pandemic. Who knows how many more seasons will keep getting, but Archer fans will be over the moon to know that it'll be back as unpredictable as ever before.

There's no official word on how many episodes we'll get of actor Jessica Walters as Malory Archer since her passing in early 2021. The rumor is that she worked on the show up until the very end because she loved it so much. Deadline even went as far as to report that Jessica Walters completed all the voicework for this season. It's also unknown whether the show can or will continue without her for a potential season 13 or not.

5. The Boondocks, 2 New Seasons & A Special

Found On: HBO Max (starting at $14.99 a month)

Tentative Release Date: Unofficially sometime in 2022

Remember the adult animated series The Boondocks? Well it's coming back and rescheduled to be released sometime in 2022 on HBO Max. The reboot is slated for a two season release with 24 episodes total and a 50 minute special.

The Boondocks originally ran for four seasons on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim content block, but will be moving off to HBO Max for these additional seasons. There's no word on whether or not actor John Witherspoon who voiced Granddad will be a part of the next season or who will replace him due to his passing in late 2019.

6. Dear White People, Season 4

Found On: Netflix (starting at $8.99 a month)

Tentative Release Date: Unofficially sometime late 2021

Without any official viewership numbers from Netflix, we don't really know how many Netflix subscribers really tuned into Dear White People. What we do know is that when Netflix launched their Black Lives Matter Collection, the show got a huge surge of viewers, up to 700% more than before the category was launched.

This is the final season of Dear White People and all of the core cast we've grown to know and love through the current three seasons is returning. There hasn't been a ton of information released outside the core cast, but actor Jeremy Tardy who played Rashid Bakr announced last year that he will not be a part of the fourth and final season due to a contract dispute.

7. Ozark, Season 4

Found On: Netflix (starting at $8.99 a month)

Tentative Release Date: Sometime late 2021 to 2022

Ozark has risen to become one of the biggest and best Netflix Originals to ever air on the streaming service. It's one of the most watched TV shows of all time with just under 30 million streamers tuning into the third season.

The final season of Ozark is coming to Netflix sometime soon and expected to drop late 2021 to 2022. There's no official release date, but what we know is that season 4 has fourteen episodes and will be split up into two parts with seven episodes each. Unfortunately for fans this will be Ozark's final season.
