Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not receive updates on King Charles and Kate Middleton's health, according to a royal expert.

Maureen Callahan, the American columnist for the Daily Mail, spoke with GBNews America. She weighed in on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's knowledge about His Majesty and the Princess of Wales' health battles. According to her, the royals made it a point to keep them in the dark on the matter because the public was only interested in them due to their ties with the royal family.

"The only real thing that Meghan Markle and her husband have to merchandise is their connection to the Royal Family, it really is the singular point of interest for either of these people," Callahan claimed.

"What's true, that we know, is that Harry and Meghan are now in a complete informational blackout. They have no idea what is going on with the health of Kate. They have really no idea, it seems, what's going on with the King, so she has really nothing to offer."

The Duke of Sussex could travel to the United Kingdom this year for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry founded in 2014. An anniversary service will be held in St. Paul's Cathedral. However, it's unclear if he will meet with his sister-in-law or father if he pushes through with the visit.

"It's hard to say what the Duke of Sussex will do," Gareth Russell, a historian, author and broadcaster, told GBNews. "There's quite a bit of skepticism within the Palace, certainly within many members of the British public, about his discretion and whether or not something will end up in another book or another interview."

Russell added, "Also, whether more private moments like the conversations he had with his brother and father in the minutes after his grandfather's funeral will end up being publicly shared again. So it would be dependent on Kensington Palace and the Prince and Princess of Wales if they want that to happen."

He recounted the unflattering things Prince Harry said about Middleton in his 2023 memoir, "Spare." However, he also acknowledged that "an illness absolutely can make us rethink our priorities." The decision, however, would reportedly depend on Kensington Palace.

In Prince Harry's book, he claimed that Middleton had several complaints about how his wife planned their royal wedding in 2018. He also mentioned the text exchanges between the two duchesses over the bridesmaid dresses, which made Markle cry. He even claimed that Prince William's wife grimaced when Markle borrowed her lip gloss.
