In the first episode, All In, of Season 3, Nick and Jess decide to go "all in" as a couple and run away to a Mexican beach town while Schmidt makes his decision about Cece and Elizabeth.

Seems like Winston (LaMorne Morris) won't be up to much during this episode but Nick (Jake Johnson), Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Schmidt (Max Greenfield), and Cece (Hannah Simone) are making some very important life choices.

Fox revealed some crucial plot points with the synopsis for the episode:

"Picking up immediately after the events of the Season two finale (Cece's cancelled wedding), Nick and Jess decide to go "all in" on their relationship -- which leads them to run away to a Mexican beach town. But when Nick runs into trouble with the authorities, it's Schmidt and Winston to the (possible) rescue, which may land Nick into even deeper trouble. Meanwhile, Schmidt makes a decision regarding Cece and Elizabeth (Guest star Merrit Wever), and Winston becomes obsessed with completing a puzzle," read the FOX site.

Schmidt's story line was left with a cliffhanger in finale of the last season, when he tried to sabotage Cece's wedding, and was eventually forced to make a choice between Cece and his current girlfriend, Elizabeth. In the Season 3 predictions for Schmidt and Cece, Greenfield was very sympathetic toward his character and the sticky predicament he had been placed in:

"I don't think he likes being put in a position of 'you should choose' and make such an emotional decision just on, like, a 'you choose now!' I don't think that's appropriate," he says. "I think he's going to say, 'guess what? I don't choose any of you. I choose myself!'"

In the same teaser, Simone very assertively stated, "Hopefully in Season 3, he had made his mind up! Made the right decision!"

While Morris thinks that Schmidt will choose Elizabeth, Merrit Wever, who plays that character, is also a series regular at Nurse Jackie and the producers of New Girl haven't suggested that she will be guest starring in the upcoming season. She wasn't even asked to weigh in on the love triangle in the clip that teases the fate of Schmidt and Cece's relationship.

Season 3 premieres on Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
