Allyson Felix of the United States won the gold medal in the women's 200 meters on Wednesday after finishing in 21.88 seconds.

Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won silver after she finished in 22.09 seconds (her personal best) and Carmelita Jeter of the U.S. won bronze finishing in 22.14 seconds.

This was Felix' first gold in the event after she failed to win the title in the past two Olympics.
