DC Comics has announced that one of its characters will soon become gay. Publisher Dan Didio revealed at a Kapow Comic Convention in London recently that the homosexual character will be a prominent one, in a move that will be sure to divide opinion. Just weeks after President Obama announced that his opinion on gay marriage had "evolved", DC Comics Vice President Bob Wayne has said that the company's opinion on homosexuality has also gone through an evolution process.

J.K. Rowling's publisher Little, Brown & Co. announced today that her first novel for adults is entitled "The Casual Vacancy" and will be available worldwide on September 27.
