Scorpion's Walter O'Brien is making new friends, and they're not of the genius variety.

The leader of Team Scorpion will have to do a little community service in season 2 - probably thanks his near deadly joyriding - but his time spent amongst his fellow delinquents won't be entirely wasted.

O'Brien (Elyes Gabel) will befriend Ray, who will be played by Kevin Weisman.

"As Ray, Walter's new buddy from community service, Kevin is going to bring a completely different viewpoint to Walter's life - he's not a genius - in fact he probably has below average intelligence. He's odd and a bit 'off' but for some reason, Walter learns to like the guy and we get to see Walter O'Brien make a non-genius friend outside of Scorpion," executive producer Nick Santora told Give Me My Remote.

Unfortunately, Ray will cause a few new problems for Walter, Happy, Paige, Toby, and Sylvester.

"Ray's unique approach to life is something Walter and the gang have to adjust to, and that won't always be that easy to do," Santora explained.

Ray will make his debut with in the first three episodes. Check out the photo below to see the actor on set.

Scorpion will return to CBS on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
