It's been almost three years since the last episode of Gossip Girl, but the lives of Manhattan's elite are still pretty 'scandalous.'

Are Two Former 'Gossip Girl' Stars Going To Do A Crossover Episode In Their New Shows?

On Friday, Entertainment Weekly posted a video with Jessica Szohr who played Vanessa on the series for a good while. She revealed how she got the part of (SPOILER ALERT) Dan's friend and lover as well as the misfit who everyone turned against.

The way Szohr snagged her iconic role happened pretty much out of being at the right place at the right time. Her friend Adam Brody (the husband of Leighton Meester who starred in Gossip Girl with Szohr) took the actress to a BBQ although she didn't know whose house it was at. Just her luck, it happened to be the home that belonged to the creator of the series.

Is There Any Chance Of A 'Gossip Girl' Reunion?

She had no idea who the creator was, but when her manager called two days later, her life changed.

"My manager called and said, 'What'd you do this weekend?'" Szohr recalled. "I said, 'I went to a movie and then I went to a BBQ,' and she goes, 'Well, there is this pilot called Gossip Girl that got picked up, and there's a three episode arc and they thought you were kind of right for it.'"

From there, she went to the audition, which didn't go so badly- although she had to change up her hairstyle to set a different look from the other actresses.

It turns out that was a smart move since after she filmed her three episodes, she ended up becoming a series regular.
