Continuum is about to air its final season on television although fans are wishing there could've been at least one more.

'Continuum' Star Will 'Miss' Series When It Ends

On Saturday, a Twitter user wrote that the sci-fi series had a lot of potential to last longer than four seasons. In his view, the show could've continued for a fifth year.

As it turns out, Rachel Nichols who plays Kiera on the show, re-tweeted this post so odds are likely she feels there could've been a fifth season as well.

Unfortunately, the show will only go on for one more year, but there will likely be a satisfying ending. In a post from Carter Matt last December, Nichols dished on how excited she was that the series would be getting closure.

"All great stories deserve an end," she said. "I am excited and grateful to finish Continuum with the riveting conclusion it deserves...this series finale is dedicated to the devoted fans who have loyally supported us since day one."

Senior Vice President of Content at Shaw Media Christine Shipton pointed out that the final episode of the program will likely please all the die-hard fans.

"Continuum's award-winning success on Showcase is a testament to the quality of our Canadian original productions...with executive producer Simon Barry at its helm, the fourth and final season of Continuum is bound to deliver a heroic conclusion to the futuristic series," Shipton said.

Continuum Season 4 is expected to premiere in the United States on Friday, September 11 on Showcase.
