It is usually considered to be on a ratings bubble despite its passionate and loyal fanbase, but the numbers for the season 3 finale of Devious Maids could be a positive sign that the show will be picked up for a fourth season on Lifetime.

'Devious Maids' EP Dishes On Season 3 Finale

The series, which was reportedly down in numbers during the 3rd season, did see an increase in views during the August 24 finale. According to Carter Matt, it posted a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic alongside a season-high 1.53 million viewers, which were the best numbers of the season.

Previously, the season was down an average of 25 percent throughout, meaning the increase in numbers could be a more positive sign,  especially after Lifetime chose to renew their new series UnREAL for a second season, despite it posting even lower numbers than Devious Maids.

Louis & Blanca's Killer Revealed

However, Lifetime has canceled other wildly popular shows in the past year because of ratings numbers as well, leaving fans without a resolution, something that could be repeated if Devious Maids also gets axed.

The season finale managed to wrap up the overall biggest mystery of season 3 with the revelation that Sebastien (Gilles Marini) had been the one who murdered both Louis Becker and Blanca (Naya Rivera), as well as Michael Stoppard (Brett Cullen) in the final episode. However it left an entire new slew of cliffhangers for the show to pick things up on in a new season. Adrian (Tom Irwin) was still inside the Powell mansion when it blew up in the final moments of the finale, leaving his fate unknown, while Zoila (Judy Reyes) appeared to encounter major complications during her pregnancy, with the fates of both she and her baby potentially landing in Genevieve's (Susan Lucci) hands. Rosie (Dania Ramirez) was also handed a huge shock when Spence (Grant Show) didn't remember her after suffering from amnesia-and turned to his ex-wife Perri (Mariana Klavenko).

A decision has yet to be reached on the show's fate.
