It's going to be a tough battle on The Affair as Helen takes a dangerous path in the Noah drama.

Is Another Woman Coming Between Noah & Alison On 'The Affair?'

On Saturday, a clip was released with Maura Tierney (Helen) who mentioned what her character will be dealing with in the second season. She has to take on different responsibilities, which won't be an easy task.

"In Season 2, I think Helen's struggling to be a mom and a daughter, and she has to function at her job," Tierney said. "So there's all of these ways that she's expected to still sort of perform and she's having a really hard time doing it."

As things change, each character involved in the love rectangle will have their own ways of seeing the story.

"The whole structure's being adjusted," Tierney said. "And giving all of the characters' [point of view], it really opens up the storytelling."

With the way Noah sees his wife, Helen won't look too much like a victim. She's going to have a lot of resentment towards him and it'll probably give the man less sympathy for her.

"From Noah's point of view, I'm much colder, much more condescending and much more threatening," the actress said about her character. "She's really belittling of his work and she's not really understanding what he needs."

The Affair Season 2 premieres on Sunday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
