Infamous rap couple Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have answered many of the questions we have wanted to know about their relationship for months.

After more than a year of dating, the two marked their first interview together with GQ magazine. In the article released Tuesday, Nicki and Meek expressed different ideas on whether their relationship is a “normal” one when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Meek said it’s definitely unique while Nicki believed they aren’t any different than the everyday couple.

Interestingly enough, she said their relationship went to another level after her split with Safaree Samuels, which was around the same time Meek went to jail.

“I was left in a house by myself and it was just a tough time for me and it happened to be a tough time for him as well…It was weird and so at that time I was available. So I reached out to him letting him know…It’s funny that the day he went to jail, he was on my mind the day before.”

While they have seen lots of criticism and hate from fans and Instagram followers, Nicki said many of their close celebrity friends weren’t against them sparking up a romance. But when it came to Nicki’s family, they were a little more hesitant to welcome Meek with open arms.

“Everyone professional [was on board]. The only person was my mother. My mother only knows Meek from what she sees in the public, in the media. She met him now, buts he just wants to make sure he’s a nice guy.”

Nicki added that her “pastor, who’s like a second mother,” was also “scared.”
