In a new clip of the upcoming episode of Fox’s Empire, Andre’s wife, Rhonda, steps in in hopes of bringing the family together after Jamal goes on a rampage against them.

In the scene, a “so nervous” Rhonda opens up to the new Jamal and wants to speak to him “in confidence.”

“I’m scared for [Andre], Jamal. He’s miserable. Empire is everything to him and without it he’s completely lost.”

When Jamal asks why Andre is teaming up with their mother Cookie and brother, Hakeem for a hostile takeover against him for the Empire throne, Rhonda said Andre simply isn’t being himself.

“Look, Andre messed up. Obviously he knows that. But I’m asking you, as his brother to find it in your heart to forgive him. Because all he wants is to be back at Empire with you and Lucious at the company that he gave his entire heart to.”

Still, Jamal, who has definitely taken on a new attitude this season after Lucious named him the leader of Empire in the season 1 finale, has a little sympathy, and even wishes he could get rid of Empire.

“It’s just so much stuff..I would give anything to just hand that off to Andre.”

Rhonda, who has done her dirty work with Andre in the past with the attempt to have him be the head of Empire, seems pleased with Jamal’s statement.
