The View is continuing with its controversial debates, this time involving guns.

Rosie Perez Reportedly Quit 'The View' On The Spot

On Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson made an appearance on the talk show where he spoke to the ladies about how he feels about guns in public schools following the tragedy of the Umpqua Community College shooting in Oregon. Carson said that he would feel more comfortable if kindergarten teachers had guns in the classroom with them.

This clearly caused confusion where Carson said, "Obviously you're not just going to have a weapon sitting on the kindergarten teacher's desk."

Talk show co-host Joy Behar then asked where the weapon would be.

"It would be secured in a place where kids could not get to it," Carson said.

Behar continued the discussion by asking the candidate how fast a teacher would be able to get to a gun inside a locked place if a gunman came in with an assault weapon.

Carson said that the teacher should be trained.

Carson has been open about firearms before based on a report from ABC where he said that he would be supportive of teachers having guns with them.

"If I had a little kid in kindergarten somewhere would feel much more comfortable if I knew on that campus there was a police officer or somebody who was trained with a weapon," he said. "I would feel more comfortable."
