The likelihood of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s husband, Joe, being deported back to Italy after his prison sentence has been said to be very likely. But what does that mean for him and Teresa?

Well, that was addressed in last night’s episode of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In as Teresa’s lawyer, James J. Leonard, Jr. hit Joe with the reality that she would have to decide what to do if he is indeed forced to leave the country.

Leonard asked him, “If God forbid, you had to go, do you see Teresa and the girls moving to Italy with you?”

Joe told Leonard that he and Teresa have definitely had this conversation before. And he was confident that she would indeed go with him.

“Of course she would.”

Still, Joe made it clear, “I consider myself an American.”

After all, his parents and siblings went through the steps of becoming official citizens. And other than the cuisine, Joe said he’s not too familiar with the Italian lifestyle.

While the family is preparing for Teresa’s release in December, it also means that Joe’s sentence is coming up soon. He was given roughly three years in prison after he and Teresa pleaded guilty to several serious fraud charges last year.

Teresa’s brother, Joe Gorga, said, “He’s going to miss so much. Really breaks my heart for him.”
