You might remember when none other than Rihanna first hit the scene back in 2005 that speculation and reports swirled claiming that Jay Z was eyeing her a little too much for Beyonce’s comfort.

Now, more than 10 years later, an unauthorized biography of Beyonce’s story called Becoming Beyonce: The Untold Story reveals that the two actually did have serious marriage problems over Rihanna.

The book, penned by best-selling author J Randy Taraborrelli, said that rumors of Jay Z and Rihanna were sparked by the "Diamonds" singer’s camp in hopes of helping her gain more publicity in the early stages of her career, but Beyonce wasn’t feeling it.

News of the book’s claims have even caused some to wonder if she was the reason Beyonce’s sister attacked Jay Z in an elevator back in May of last year.

Taraborelli, who spoke with Beyonce’s close ones for the book, says it indeed was related to Rihanna.

“People told me that there was a whispered argument that night, having to do with Jay wanting to go to a party that was going to be feeding Rihanna,” he told Access Hollywood Thursday. “Beyonce did what Beyonce does. She laid down the law, this is very Beyonce, to say ‘you ain’t goin, it’s not gonna happen. End of story.’”

He said it would have ended there, but Solange heard the two and decided to step in herself— literally.

“To all of the people out there who believe that Jay Z cheats on Beyonce and she allows it, I can tell you that’s not gonna happen. Beyonce is not that girl. Jay Z, if he’s cheating on Beyonce, she doesn’t know about it. Because if she did, he’d be out.”
