Sofia Vergara was originally cast in "The Paperboy" as Charlotte Bless, who was eventually played by Nicole Kidman.

Vergara was originally cast opposite Bradley Cooper for the movie starring John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron, according to the Hollywood Reporter. But the role eventually went to Kidman after Vergara dropped it because of her commitments to ABC's comedy series "Modern Family."

"The money fell out, just like with most independent films, and we had to start over," film director Lee Daniels explained to The Hollywood Reporter regarding Vergara's replacement. "I felt Nicole and I together would be explosive -- I didn't even have to talk to her, we read each others' minds. We were like a couple making love except without the sex."

The film which was released in March 2012 stirred buzz among film critics and the general public because of two particular scenes during which Kidman has sex with Cusack in jail and another one during which she urinates on Zac Efron after he was stung by a jellyfish.

"It's the rawest thing I've done," Kidman told the Daily mail. Though she said she "hated" the film being defined by what she termed "the peeing scene."

Vergara is still appearing in "Modern Family." In an episode that aired last Wednesday, her character Gloria gave birth to a baby boy in a dramatic scene in which she started to go into labor in the middle of a birthday party.

However in reality, the actress is not planning to have a baby. Although she is engaged to businessman Nick Loeb and is planning to have a "big" wedding, a baby is not yet on her plans.

"Maybe next year I could think about it," she said, according to the Daily Mail.

As for her wedding plans, she told People magazine:

"Now I don't have the time -- and it will have to be one weekend when I have the time to plan something fun.

"I don't even know what I'm going to do."
