The world is waking up Monday morning with the shocking news of David Bowie's death. The 69-year-old superstar died over the weekend after his 18-month battle with cancer. Now, his wife Iman is opening up about her husband and how she's relying on her faith in God as she copes with his death.

According to Xpose on Monday, the 60-year-old model has not publicly commented on Bowie's death, but she did leave a message on her Twitter account for her fans. The megastar died one day after his birthday on Jan. 9.

She wrote, "The struggle is real but so is God. Sometimes you never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

Iman and Bowie were married for almost 24 years and had one daughter together, 15-year-old Alexandria Zahra Jones. Iman was also a stepmother to Bowie's son Duncan Jones, from his previous marriage to Angie Jones.

Duncan also took to his Twitter account to share the news of his father's passing with his fans by writing, "Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all.''

A simple statement from Bowie's publicist reads, "David Bowie died peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief.''
