On Wednesday, Radio Times got some details from series creator Julian Fellowes who discussed the possibility of the British drama getting an official film following the end of the sixth season. As it turns out, he's "up for it."

He also said that the odds of a movie based on the series are "64.5%" likely. He added that he'd "love" for it to happen and it would be "fun."

Chatter On Mary & Edith's Relationship On 'Downton Abbey'

Of course, there are things that need to get worked out, but for the most part, it might be worth looking forward to.

Meanwhile, executive producer Gareth Neame previously opened up on a potential Downton movie where he said he's "keen" on the idea.

"There is no script and no firm plan, but it's certainly something there is talk of," he said via The Sun. "We're not in denial about anything. We'll know more next year."

Neame also admitted that the series could have gone longer than six seasons, but one of the main reasons why they decided to let it run its course is because Maggie Smith (Violet Crawley) probably wouldn't have stuck around. But regardless, everyone is still satisfied with how everything went down.

"We all feel very blessed," the producer said. "Nobody regrets ending when we did. We have a final season that's as strong as the first because we quit while we were ahead. We had the ambition that we had a complete show."

Downton Abbey airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
