Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon shocked us all when they announced their separation and Cannon officially filed for divorce about a year ago. Now that she is engaged to be married, of course fans want to know what Cannon has to say about it.

For now, it looks like he is focusing on his own career.

He shared a photo just a couple of hours after Carey’s engagement was announced and revealed he was performing a standup comedy show.

He has not spoken out publicly about the news that Carey is tying the knot with her boyfriend, billionaire James Packard yet. But it is very likely that he gave them their blessing considering he and Carey have two children, five-year-old twins, together. Carey and Cannon’s split has been pretty peaceful ever since their separation was announced back in 2014.

While Carey has moved on, Cannon has been linked to Amber Rose, model Jessica White and Nicole Murphy (Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife). But he has also made it clear he doesn’t plan on getting married a second time.

“I highly doubt it…I feel like marriage isn’t for everyone,” he said in the latest issue of DuJour magazine. “There’s like a 50/50 chance of a marriage working. If it didn’t work out for you the first time, and you still survived it, you probably shouldn’t do it again.”
Still, he and Carey spent the holidays together with their children.

“Their mom makes Christmas very theatrical.”

He also complimented Carey and said she has a good balance of being “a diva” and “humble.”
