In 2014, Brinson was given just months to live, but in the years that followed, despite hitting a few bumps in the road, he has continued to fight for his life, and been very successful with his efforts. Now, after a recent report claimed he had taken a turn for the worse, Brinson has revealed a message from God.
"I just got a sign from God, with all the fight and love inside me he's going to keep me down here for awhile so I can win this battle so I can watch over my loved ones and take care of them, I'm going to be stronger than ever and over come this," Brinson announced. "Too much love inside me to give up."

Weeks ago, a source spoke out, claiming Richards' family was worried about how she'd respond if Brinson was to pass.
“Kim has been by Monty’s side since he was diagnosed and when he passes she is going to be devastated,” a source close to Richards told Radar Online earlier this month. “Everyone is worried that his death will compromise her sobriety, since she is just so newly sober.”
“He is not even able to walk on his own,” Brinson's other ex-wife, Terri Doss, told Radar, adding that Brinson was paralyzed and “not of sound mind.”
Meanwhile, Richards’ family is “praying for his health and praying that Kim makes it through the heartbreaking situation.”
