Fans who have continually been disappointed by Secrets and Lies season two being left off so many ABC television season schedules may be in luck when it comes time for the network to announce its plans for the fall.

According to the show's creator and executive producer, Barbie Kligman, the series may officially be set for a fall date later this year, and though a specific time slot isn't mentioned, she seemed confident enough that the show would be on this fall to let fans know it would be there on Twitter.

"#SecretsandLies return for season 2 this fall!" She shared on May 1.

She hasn't shared any other specific details about the show's definitely returning in the fall, but it's the most definitive Kligman has sounded when it comes to the show's getting an air date, after nearly more than a year of it being shuffled off the schedule and getting delayed.

Her most recent tweet about the show back in the beginning of April was far less definitive about a date, confirming a whole second season was in the works, but an air date hadn't been decided on. Just a week and a half later, it was revealed that ABC had left the show off its summer schedule, when it had been most anticipated to be premiere.

The show's second season was originally planned for the winter break, taking over the slot vacated by Nashville during that time. It was later bumped in favor of the second season of American Crime. ABC never confirmed it would be on during the upcoming summer season, though it was often expected to be the case.

Season two brings back Juliette Lewis's Detective Andrea Cornell as she investigates a new murder mystery. Michael Ealy plays Eric Warner, the new prime suspect as Cornell investigates the murder of his wife, Kate, portrayed by Jordana Brewster.
