It appears the network seems to be behind any holdup on a premiere date for the highly anticipated second season of Secrets and Lies.

The new season of the series, which will see Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) investigate the murder of Kate Warner (Jordana Brewster)—with her husband, Eric (Michael Ealy) as the prime suspect—was initially slated for a late 2015 premiere date during Nashville's winter break, but it was then bumped in favor of the second season of American Crime.

Since then, there has been no word on when the show will return for its second season, and fans have been growing impatient with the lack of information. However, in a few new tweets, series executive producer Barbie Kligman may have finally confirmed that while no date has yet been assigned to the show for a season two premiere, it isn't something to do with the production side of things.

Kligman responded to a fan's tweet on April 6 to reveal that there is an entire season already filmed and completely ready to go—it genuinely is just simply waiting for a premiere date from ABC.

"It is coming back! There's a whole season 2 for your guys. Just waiting for official date!" She wrote.

She later reiterated this point in a tweet April 7, when a fan asked if she could give out a date for the new season, and she promised that as soon as she had one she would notify the fans with the information.

"Soon as I have one to give u!" She wrote.

The only hint at a possible date for the show currently is the schedule for what is supposed to be an episode titled "The Brother", which according to IMDb, is set to air on July 1 of this year. It is unclear if that could be confirmed.

Though an air date hasn't been confirmed for the show, it also isn't the first time ABC has shuffled the series. Its first season was given a midseason debut on Sunday, March 1, 2015, but had been initially slated to get the slot vacated by the early season finale of How To Get Away With Murder.
