While some celebrity couples would do anything to keep their relationships out of the public spotlight, it looks like Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani is doing whatever it takes to stay in it. Now, critics are saying that their new duet, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," might be the "kiss of death" for their very public relationship.

According to People magazine on Monday, Shelton said that the reason why the couple recorded the duet is because it apparently helped get over some of the insecurities he personally struggled with before he met Stefani.

"We're a little bit nervous about it, but nervous in a way that we can't wait and nervous in a way that we hope people think it's as good as we think it is," he told the magazine. "We both had trust issues. We were getting over it, but we wrote this song about it, and it's perfect."

Yet, both fans and critics alike think that the new duet might already be a future mistake that both Shelton and Stefani might one day regret making.

Some comments on the online article include, "Is having a song together the kiss of death to a relationship like getting tattoos of each others' names? There's something about making a huge fuss and taking big, permanent leaps (that song will be out [there] with both their names forever) with something relatively new that the universe likes to mock."

Another critic wrote, "OMG this couple has turned into the Kardashians w/ all the media & press! All they do is milk this relationship for more and more PR. Guess the show will get some ratings. Reality is NOT good for a relationship. Keep stuff private or else it looks like you are always putting on a show for people. Be confident in your relationship. Gwen comes off as very thirsty for attention."
