Angelina Jolie is paying the bill for 13 Cambodian children to attend private school.

Last year, while filming First They Killed My Father in Siem Reap, Jolie became friends with 16-year-old student Leida Shoun and her 12 siblings, who range between 20 months and 23 years old and live in a shack with their parents.

According to a Radar Online report, Leida's family was unable to pay for school expenses and she was forced to drop out two years ago.

“We cannot afford it,” she told Jolie. “It is $5 per subject per month per child — too much for us. But I want to help other people, and be a good example for my family.”

Now, however, Leida and her siblings are enrolled at New York International School’s Siem Reap branch courtesy of Jolie and her husband, Brad Pitt.

“The Shouns are very good children,” a school official said. “They have only just started, but they are doing very well.”

The Jolie and Pitt family “have already given them more than any check could," a source told Radar Online. "They’ve helped give them the means to learn and work and prosper for themselves.”

In other news, Jolie and Pitt's marriage is said to be on the rocks due to Jolie's jealousy over his relationship with his Five Seconds of Silence co-star Marion Cotillard.

“The resentment has been eating away at Angelina,” an insider told In Touch Weekly at the time, via Hollywood Life. “She’s prone to think that since she was once Brad’s co-star and seduced him away from his wife, the same will happen to her. [Cotillard]’s exactly the kind of sultry European actress that Angie has always wanted to be and she’s playing exactly the kind of role Angie’s always wanted to play. Adding to the jealousy is the fact that Marion has one thing Angelina hasn’t achieved in her acting career: Oscar for Best Actress."

“He will be the one to file,” the magazine continued of Pitt's plans for a split. “He’s fed up with her controlling ways, her obstinateness when it comes to listening to him about her health issues and how she needs to slow down and now her outright jealousy when it comes to other women.”
