It is supposed to be a sure thing that Secrets and Lies will be on ABC this fall, but there are some potential indicators that could suggest the status of the show's highly anticipated second season is still up in the air.

The networks and cable channels have been unveiling a slew of canceled programs and renewal notices in recent days as they prepare their Fall lineups during the upfronts this week, and several big shows on ABC have already seen themselves get cut (Castle, Agent Carter and Nashville all found themselves cut). Now, there could be a sign that despite being renewed for season two last year and shooting the episodes, Secrets and Lies may be hanging out with no real home on the network anymore, and could also be on the bubble.

According to TV Guide, ABC's plans are as follows when it comes to their entire lineup of shows:

Renewed Shows: America's Funniest Home Videos, American Crime, The Bachelor, Black-ish, The Catch, Dancing with the Stars, Dr. Ken, Fresh Off the Boat, Grey's Anatomy, The Goldbergs, How to Get Away with Murder, Last Man Standing, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Middle, Modern Family. Once Upon a Time, Quantico, The Real O'Neals, Scandal, Shark Tank

New Pick-Ups: Conviction, Designated Survivor, Downward Dog, Imaginary Mary, Notorious, Speechless, Still Star-Crossed, Timer After Time, Untitled Sarah Dunn Comedy (The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport)

Looking Good For Renewal: Beyond the Tank

Too Soon To Tell The Status Of: Mistresses, Secrets and Lies Uncle Buck

Canceled & Ending: Blood & Oil, Castle, The Family, Galavant, Marvel's Agent Carter, The Muppets, Nashville, Of Kings and Prophets, Wicked City

Being designated as "Too soon to tell" isn't necessarily considered a good sign for the show, especially since it's second season premiere has continued to be pushed off by ABC for other shows. It was initially supposed to be given Nashville's time slot during the winter break this year but was knocked off for American Crime's second season, and it was left off of ABC's summer schedule as well.

However, there are still some potential good signs for the show's future. Being designated as an unknown status could be for a third season and not the second, which means it would stay on such a list until after the second season aired and the network could determine if it had strong enough ratings to continue. In addition, Nashville's cancellation, and Secrets and Lies initially supposed to getting its spot last year, could be a way for ABC to clear space in their lineup for the show.

Series creator Barbie Kligman also seems hopeful about the show's fate for Fall as well, and has confidently assured fans on Twitter that it will premiere this Fall.
