The cast of The Fosters opened up on the frightening premiere episode.

On Monday, Access Hollywood shared details from some of the actors, one including David Lambert who plays Brandon on the series. He revealed how things will begin in the fourth season, which comes right after the scary moment when Nick pulled a gun out of his car.

"We pick up in the school right where we left off," Lambert said. "We saw Nick pull up and he didn't seem too good so there's a bit of an intense lockdown situation that happens, you see it in the previews, it's been on TV so we're gonna get right into that. And the entire first episode really revolves around that heavily. And it obviously puts all sorts of stress on the family."

The actor also revealed what's next for Brandon and Callie's relationship where any romantic connection or feelings of the past will be set aside. Since things have been so frightening on the family, these two are going to work together to keep everyone in a good place.

"Brandon and Callie get paired up and I think for the first time in a while you get to see them working together putting aside all the stuff and just kind of making sure everyone's good and safe, and they're kind of a team in those moments," Lambert said.

Maia Mitchell, who plays Callie, opened up on what the premiere episode was supposed to represent, something she hopes will come off really well.

"We definitely wanted it to feel grounded," Mitchell said. "We didn't want it to feel like some kind of, like, cop show. We wanted it to be like The Fosters does that in a grounded way, and I haven't seen it yet, but I hope we did that."

The Fosters Season 4 premieres on Monday, June 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
