Acquitted murderer George Zimmerman has found himself in trouble once more, as the former night watchman who famously killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin back in 2012 was allegedly punched squarely in the face by an angry patron.

The incident, which allegedly happened Sunday evening, took place inside Gators Riverside Grille in Florida. According to Zimmerman, who called 9-1-1 because of the incident, it all started after he complimented a customer's Confederate flag tattoos.

When he approached them, one of the customer's friends recognized him, and asked if he was indeed the man who infamously shot the 17-year-old African-American teenager back in 2012. Zimmerman then proceeded to show his identification to the group.

At this point, an angry patron, who was called "Eddie," came up to the acquitted gunman and confronted Zimmerman.

"You're bragging about that?" Eddie allegedly said.

According to Zimmerman's account to the police, he tried to de-escalate the situation, stating that he was not looking for any trouble. Despite this, however, Eddie slugged him hard on his face nonetheless.

Restaurant staff then intervened and separated the two, and Zimmerman immediately called 9-1-1, stating that Eddie threatened to kill him. As for Eddie, he allegedly fled on a blue Harley-Davidson motorcycle after the altercation with the acquitted gunman.

While Zimmerman's account paints a picture of him being the unwilling victim of an angry patron, other people in the restaurant have stated that his version of the incident's events was not exactly accurate. Joseph Whitmer, one of the customers in the restaurant, described a rather different scenario.

"Mr. Zimmerman walks up and says 'I love your tattoos. My name is George Zimmerman, you know the guy who killed Trayvon Martin?'," he said, adding that Zimmerman showed his ID to the group without being asked.

David Worrell, who was among the people in the table that the former neighborhood watchman approached, stated that Zimmerman acted quite arrogant when he was speaking with them.

"The issue he had was when Mr. Zimmerman came to his table and proceeded to brag about how he was the one who killed Trayvon Martin," the police report about the incident stated.

As of writing, no one has been charged by the police.
