Jenelle Evans' son Jace turned 7 earlier this month and over the weekend, she celebrated his birthday along with her boyfriend, David Eason.

Ahead of his birthday party, the Teen Mom 2 star shared a photo of her son and his first gift.

"Finally , Jace finally got his present. #HappyBirthdayJace," Evans wrote in the caption of the photo below on Saturday.

A short time later, Evans shared a video of Jace, who turned 7 on Aug. 2, along with the caption, "Jace has only been riding for an hour and already looks like a pro!"

Evans' mother, Barbara, has been the boy's primary caretaker since Evans signed over custody shortly after his birth and while Evans has expressed interest in regaining custody of Jace, she has yet to do so. Instead, she and Barbara remain at odds over the issue.

"Jace recently asked me: 'When can I live with you again?' " Evans told PEOPLE Magazine in March. "I said: 'Well, hopefully by the summer you'll be living here.' But that's all I told him – I don't want him to know too much right now 'cause it's really detrimental."

"We really don't talk other than if it's about Jace, because if we are around each other too much we start arguing," Evans said.
