Johnny Manziel is being sued by a former landlord.

According to a new report, the former NFL quarterback, who was released by the Cleveland Browns earlier this year and has yet to be picked up by anotherteam, is legal hot water after he allegedly failed to pay $25,000 per month for a home he was renting in the Hollywood Hills.

On Wednesday, TMZ shared news of the lawsuit, claiming the owner of the legendary Weidlake mansion, which has been seen in multiple television shows, had served Manziel and his friends with an eviction notice last week, claiming that Manziel not only failed to pay rent but also badly damaged his property. Meanwhile, Manziel has reportedly insisted he's done nothing wrong -- and claims he's never signed an agreement that would legally require him to pay rent.

"Manziel had claimed he never rented the home and the allegations were bogus -- but in his suit, the owner included a copy of the original lease which includes Manziel's name listed as a person who would be residing in the home," the outlet explained.

In his suit against Manziel, which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Danny Fitzgerald stated that Manziel and two of his friends were on the hook for over $25,000 in rent and other fees. Fitzgerald has also confirmed plans to file an additional lawsuit for damages, which could go into "the 6 figure range."

In a statement to TMZ Sports, Manziel said, "I never rented a house in the hills. I've been staying with a friend when I've been in L.A. which, as of late, has not been much. This guy is upset with a friend of mine and dragging me into it."
