There have been a lot of smartphones to look after this year that will surely get the interest of many tech enthusiasts. The long list of handsets includes iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy X, Samsung Galaxy S8, OnePlus 4 and other handsets from other manufacturers.

According to International Business Times, the tech giants Apple and Samsung will have distinct events to launch their new flagship models. So here are some of the handsets that are slated to be released this year.

Apple Inc. is just months away from officially launching its iPhone 8 series. This will be tenth year anniversary of its original iPhone this 2017 and with this, Apple is expected to incorporate new features to iPhone 8.

Based on some speculations, there will be three versions of iPhone 8 this year, one will be an advanced variant and also successors of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new models are anticipated to have a fundamental design with edge-to-edge curved OLED display, dual camera with 3D imaging and OIS, bigger battery, wireless charging, A11 chipset and other powerful features. The upcoming iPhones are believed to be unveiled in September this year.

As for Samsung, it will reportedly launch its Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S. The Galaxy S8 is projected to arrive with a "Plus" size variant and high-end features like 4K curved display, dual camera, fingerprint scanner under the display panel while removing the home button, 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 chipset, Bluetooth 5 and other specs. It might be launched next month.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy X smartphone might be available in October. Predictions suggest that the Galaxy X will be the company's first foldable smartphone; combined with high-end specs like Snapdragon 835 CPU, 8GB RAM, and others.

Furthermore, NDTV Gadgets has learned that OnePlus will also unveil its OnePlus 4 this year.. This handset will reportedly boast a ceramic body, may come in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants, sport the Snapdragon 835 chipset, dual rear-facing, and it may preserve the 3.5mm earphone jack. However, this smartphone may have a 5.3-inch display with 4K resolution, a way smaller than its predecessors.

There are also leaked photos of a handset that is believed to be the Moto X 2017 all over the wire. Based on the images the Moto X 2017 will feature an all-metal body, fingerprint sensor on the back. The gadget in the leaked images does not have Moto Mod pins on the back, so Lenovo is predicted to add some other unique feature in Moto X 2017.

LG Electronics will also join the roster of smartphone makers that will release handsets this year. The South Korean tech giant might not use the modular design with the G6, though the company itself stated that it will not do away with the interchangeable accessories for now. The G6 might have an aluminum body with water-resistant coating, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C port, wireless charging, and removable battery. LG was also rumored of planning to use curved display on the G6, but that idea has been abandoned due to supply-chain controls.
