The 2016 flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 is selling for as low as Rs 5,399 on Flipkart under exchange, excluding delivery charges. From an earlier price cut, the Xiaomi Mi 5 now costs Rs 22,999. The Flipkart maximum exchange offer is discounts of up to Rs 17,600.

The offer is also available for the older Apple iPhone 6s Plus. It is also applicable to several Android smartphones, including Nexus phones. The Mi 5 is about 14 g lighter than the iPhone 6s, Weighing 129 grams. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. Around 7.25 mm thick, it features a 5.15-inch FHD display and sports a 4-megapixel front camera with 2um pixel size.

The Mi 5 emanates with a Sony IMX298 16-megapixel sensor with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, OIS, and 4K video recording. It has a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Xiaomi has also added a front fingerprint sensor to the Mi 5. With Xiaomi's newest MIUI7 layer atop it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Other specifications include 4G LTE with VoLTE support and dual SIM support.

The Mi 5 comes in white, black, and gold color options. The Xiaomi Mi5 is that Android phone, a powerful and beautifully designed handset that's now priced like one those average flagships. Although for experienced users this is hardly a challenge. Xiaomi has also opted for a USB-C connector on the Mi5 that renders old charging cables entirely useless. It requires extra cables.

Price and availability are something of a feast because while the Xiaomi Mi5 is available in the UK through some retailers, it's never going to be sold on a carrier. The question is, is the Mi5 is worth seeking out?
