"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is about to meet its end and stars of the show are now starting to get emotional. Using their social media pages, the supernatural drama television series' cast is giving their farewell messages as the filming now wraps up.

First off is "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 protagonist Ian Somerhalder. A lot have loved Damon Salvatore and now that the long-running television series is about to come to an end, he now bids his goodbye to his every fan, according to Spoilers Guide.

 
In his Instagram post, Ian Somerhalder revealed that from the first day of filming up to last production day of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, he is the last guy to leave the set. The 38-yer-old actor savored the last moment on the stage without any crew member with only silence surrounded him.

"To the fans, thank you for it all we would have never been on this journey without you. To all who made this show possible- we did it," Ian Somerhalder captioned his snap. Aside from the husband of Nikki Reed, other stars that posted their farewell messages as "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 ends are Candice King and the showrunner Julie Plec, who both shared the snap of their Mystic Falls-themed cake.

Paul Wesley, who played the role of Damon's brother Stefan Salvatore, tweeted his goodbye before he put his character down to rest in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, TV Line reported. "That's officially a wrap. ... To the fans, thank you for being a part of this journey in our lives. We couldn't have done it without you," he captioned his snap.

Lastly, the returning Nina Dobrev, who will be seen in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale, said her goodbye again and this time, it will be forever. With a lengthy message on her Instagram account, the "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" actress gave her heartfelt gratitude and sent her love to everyone as "Katherine, Amara, Tatia, and of course, Elena Gilbert."
