Facebook will soon come up with an app that will allow users to watch their favorite videos on the same social networking platform, but with a bigger screen. This is good news for those who save a lot of videos from their News Feed, with the intention of watching the videos when they have free time on their hands.

The launching of the new app is expected to expand Facebook's consumer base to include those who want to see videos at home. It will also make the site more competitive with Youtube and other advertising channels on television when it comes to revenues. This is also another way for the social networking site to make more money by selling video advertisements, according to Recode.

"A lot of people when they're watching video on News Feed during the day will save it for later because they don't have time to watch that three-minute video," Facebook VP for Partnerships Dan Rose said. "Now it's easy to go on your TV if you want to do that at night," he added.

With the new app, Facebook users can watch their favorite television show right from the videos they see on their Newsfeed. The move came after last year's statistics showed the over 100 million hours spent by the site's users watching videos through the platform.

The new app for the Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV and Amazon Fire TV will soon make Facebook literally a part of the users' life, Business Insider reported. Once in place, the app is expected to pave the way for better and longer video content from Facebook users themselves. Those with Android televisions will have to wait longer, or perhaps never, for the availability of the new FB Television app.
