Fans of "Longmire" have had a slight scare when news about "Longmire" Season 6 cancellation made its round on the internet. The series already had its fair share of cancellation when its original network, A&E, decided to cancel it after Season 3. In a superhero-like twist of fate, Netflix stepped in and took the reigns in producing the crime-drama series.

It can be remembered that "Longmire" Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger episode which was one of the reasons why the fans were truly disappointed when they found out that A&E decided to scrap the series. In fact, the abrupt cancellation of the crime drama series has reportedly launched one of the biggest save-the-show movements online. It was a good thing that major streaming site, Netflix, took the rime drama series into its home and successfully produced three more seasons, including "Longmire" Season 6.

According to Deadline, Netflix has announced that "Longmire" Season 6 will be the last season for the crime-drama series. The announcement came as a bittersweet surprise to the fans because although it also means that the viewers can expect jam-packed episodes for its last run. All the loose threads and unanswered questions will finally come full circle in the last ten episodes for "Longmire" Season 6.

Executive producers of "Longmire" Season 6, Hunt Baldwin, John Coveny and Greer Shephard, expressed their excitement for the upcoming series finale. "We are grateful to Netflix for the opportunity to compose a closing chapter for these beloved characters that inspires lasting memories," the producers said. "Most importantly, we're committed to delivering a dynamic and satisfying conclusion to our fans that rewards their longtime loyalty," the trio added.
